2020 National TSA Conference Statement
The safety and welfare of the TSA community (members, advisors, school officials, alumni, parents, partners, volunteers, and staff) is National TSA’s highest priority. In response to the ongoing health crisis related to the coronavirus pandemic, the TSA, Inc. Board of Directors today has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 National TSA Conference scheduled for June 27–July 1, 2020, in Nashville, Tennessee. This decision was made based on information and guidance updated daily by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and the state of emergency currently in effect in Tennessee. Additionally, because many school districts across the nation have suspended student and teacher travel for the coming months, the conference could not have nationwide representation.

2020 National TSA Conference Statement - Questions and Answers
Q: Will the 2020 national TSA conference be rescheduled?
A: No. The 2020 national TSA conference will not be rescheduled.
Q: Do I have to cancel my hotel sleeping room reservation?
A: Sleeping room reservations will automatically be cancelled for you. If you do not receive a reservation cancellation confirmation email within 7-10 business days, you may call the hotel. Gaylord Opryland at 615- 889-1000. The Inn at Opryland at 615-889-0800.
Q: Will I get a refund for tickets I purchased for TSA Night at the Grand Ole Opry?
A: Yes. You will receive a 100% refund within the coming weeks.
Q: Will there be virtual competitive events?
A: No. To be fair to all TSA members, there will be no national TSA competitions offered in any format, since some states have already canceled the remainder of their school year. These closures include participation in any school-related activity, whether it is in-person or virtual.
Q: Will there be virtual general sessions?
A: No. The conference has been canceled and, therefore, there will be no virtual general sessions.
Q: Will there be a virtual annual business meeting?
A: No. The conference has been canceled and so there will not be a virtual business meeting.
Q: How will the 2020-2021 national TSA officers be elected?
A: The election of the 2020-2021 national TSA officers will be conducted virtually. Details on the election will be provided in the coming weeks on TSA's website.
Q: Will TSA scholarships still be awarded?
A: Yes. Details on scholarship awards will be provided in the coming weeks on TSA's website.
Q: Will TSA recognition awards be given?
A: Yes. Details on recognition awards will be provided in the coming weeks on TSA's website.
Q: Will TSA reimburse me for any transportation costs I already have incurred?
A: No. TSA is not responsible for conference travel reservations or costs incurred for them. However, airlines and other transportation providers may offer refunds or travel credit. Please contact your transportation provider directly for further information.
Q: Will proposed bylaw amendments or resolutions be considered?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: Will the TSA, Inc. Board of Directors elections take place?
A: Yes. The upcoming elections for the TSA, Inc. Board of Directors will be conducted virtually. Details on the elections will be provided to corporate members and state advisors in the coming weeks.
